Rapid Prototype Machine

Hi everyone and Puan Manami

We finally we able to experience using the Rapid Prototype Machine ourselves after the 3D assembling!
So what is Rapid Prototyping?
Rapid prototyping is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part or assembly using three-dimensional computer aided design (CAD) data.Construction of the part or assembly is usually done using 3D printing or "additive layer manufacturing" technology.

How do we Rapid Prototype?

1) First we use the software connected to the machine that reads our Solidwork file by parts. The software will identify the complete structure of our part and is able to calculate how much time do we need for complete printing.

2) The machine will be able to read the file from the software and begin rapid prototyping. We were quite surprised that it actually needs to take quite a long time to complete. So we combined with another group to make sure we can do simultaneously together. The machine uses Polyjet and Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) for the materials.

3) The parts will then be sent to the water work machine with chemicals to dissolve the uneccassary base structure to make sure our part is complete.

It was a fascinating experience for all of us as we had never used the machine before.
Looking forward to see how our products will be in the end!
