Rapid Prototype Machine

Image
Hi everyone and Puan Manami We finally we able to experience using the Rapid Prototype Machine ourselves after the 3D assembling! So what is Rapid Prototyping? Rapid prototyping  is a group of techniques used to quickly fabricate a scale model of a physical part or assembly using three-dimensional  computer aided design  ( CAD ) data. Construction of the part or assembly is usually done using  3D printing  or " additive layer manufacturing " technology. -source from Wikipedia-  How do we Rapid Prototype? 1) First we use the software connected to the machine that reads our Solidwork file by parts. The software will identify the complete structure of our part and is able to calculate how much time do we need for complete printing. 2) The machine will be able to read the file from the software and begin rapid prototyping. We were quite surprised that it actually needs to take quite a long time to complete. So we combined with another group to make s...

RAPID PROTOTYPE FINAL

Image
Hello everyone! Finally, we printed our look satisfying and very cute   product. We decided to print it in parts because easily for us to do assembly.   This is the parts printed. But first we print it, the machine got some problem. So our brush become ugly. After that, we decided print our brush again. Finally, our 3D model brush look like original product. We buy a simple container for 3D model.  Thank you so much for our group member that so hard on this project and thanks Puan Manami helps us in order to teach us to finish this project. Besides, the lab assistant Puan Fadilah also helped us along the process. Thank you so much everyone.

PARTS 3D TECHNICAL DRAWINGS

Image
This is our second assignment which is 3D technical drawings from each parts of the toothbrush holder by using solidworks. Part Bracket Part Rubber Part Holder Part Brush  And yay! This is what we have done for our 3D tecnical drawings with full dimension. And each part are done by each of us as you can check it out on the image above.  Stay tuned for more update!

ASSEMBLY 3D DRAWING

Image
Since we already seperate the toothbrush holder into 4 parts and each of us done drawing out the 3D. And yes! w e had finally done our task to assemble all the parts into one complete toothbrush holder back again. However, we do make a few changes in our design to avoid copyright issues. So, here's the results of our assembly 3D model. No colour with hidden line No color with Visible line Colour with line Colour with no line  Technical Drawing  That's all from us. See you on next update :)

HAND DRAW TECHNICAL DRAWING

Image
This is our first assignment for this project which is hand draw technical drawings for each part. Thus, every member will select and parts and draw their own part. Before we start to draw, we disassembled all the parts of the toothbrush and toothbrush holder. There are 4 parts which are a bracket, rubbers, toothbrush and toothbrush holder. Then, we measure all the parts by using calipers to make sure the dimension is correct. Below are the hand-drawn technical drawing for different parts: Toothbrush Holder Bracket Rubber

INTRODUCTION

Aloha!!! Welcome to visit our page. Before we start our project, we would like to make an introduction about ourselves. We are Industrial Design students from Faculty of Design and Architecture Universiti Putra Malaysia.  Our group name is Group Darlie. We have 4 members in this group: Blog Editor: Tam Xi Yuan (Veronica) Assistant of Blog Editor / Photographer: Khor Zi Yan (Callista) Project Manager: Chan Weng Leng (Hailey) Assistant Project Manager: Lee Kai Fun We have been assigned to do a project on the subject of  IND 3402 Advanced Computer Aided Design conducted by Dr. Manami and Dr. Azrol. We choose toothbrush and toothbrush holder as the product for this project.  All progress of the projects will be updated here.
